Palace Divers Win Medals At White Rose

Eight Crystal Palace divers travelled to Leeds at the weekend for the annual White Rose “National Skills level” club competition.

The team picked up a Gold, two Silvers and a Bronze with seven final places and all scoring their National Points.

In the girls 8 & 9 years competition the Palace girls took the top two places.  Corin Burrows Mackley won gold and Nina Finlay won a silver over the Edinburgh diver .

In the younger boys competition Lucus Clayton and Toby Murrison-Waller won the prelims in style but could not quite hold on to their lead finishing 2nd and 4th in the final, respectively.  Still a great result so early in the new season.

In the girls 10 year competition Lucy Wollaston took bronze and Saeren Brett, after winning the prelims, finished 5th in the final and in the girls group B event Cerys Carter just missed bronze finishing 4th in the final and Lauren Aitkins finished 12th.

Coach Xinde Zhang was very happy with the Crystal Palace divers saying they stayed strong mentally and competed really well to bring home terrific results and four medals.
