Palace Divers Win at National Skills

Crystal Palace’s team of 33 divers won seven medals at the 2014 ASA National Skills in Sheffield including 3 gold, one silver and three bronzes.

For the seventh year in a row Palace divers were one of the top performing teams at National Novices.

The first gold went to Millie Riley  in the Girls 12 years event with a 17.75 lead over silver medallist and team mate Georgia Howeld. The second gold was won with a 10 pt lead by Jack Jefford in the boys 9 years competition. Callum King took the third Gold in the boys 10 year competition with Osian Guthrie finishing in 5th place. The three bronze medals went to Evie Smith (9 yrs), Jaida Umo (13 yrs) and Noah Payne (11 yrs).

Placings: 11th Connie Deighton, 13th Hannah Blunt,  16th William Burke, 18th James Coleman, 19th Piers Brown, 20th Lucy Walker, 22nd Astou Sidibe & Cerys Carter, 23rd Georgia Valasco, 24th Lauren Aitken, 25th Natalie Hill, 26th Chloe Hembry, 27th Ben Hembry.

Special mention: Mabel Smith had worked really hard to prepare for Nationals but sadly was badly injured after slipping at the friday training camp and had to withdraw from the competition. Mabel was very brave and was able to stay for part of the Saturday to support her friends and team mates. we have high hope for mabel in the future.
