7 – 10/7/11 Crystal Palace Divers win Top Club Award at National Age Groups

Dawdon_TrophyCrystal Palace won the Dawdon Shield, the ASA’s top English Junior Club Trophy after our divers picked up 20 National Age Group Medals last weekend in Sheffield.  

Medals included 9 golds, 6 silvers and 5 Bronzes.  

Georgia Ward (15 yrs) was one of the stars of the show winning four Golds in the springboard, highboard and synchro diving events in her age group.  

Other medals were as follows: 

Girls Group B (14/15 yrs)

Holly Lewis – Gold on 3m, Silver on 1m 

Jing Leung – Silver on 3m, Bronze on 1m

Nat_AG_123Rosie Cardoe – Gold on Highboard, Bronze on 3m

Boys & Girls Group C (12/13yrs)

Kyle Kothari – Gold on 1m and Bronze on 3m in Boys Group C

Grace May – Gold on 3m, Silver on 1m & Highboard

Katharine Torrance – Gold on Highboard

Jessica Royes – Silver on 3m

Synchro Events

Girls 3m 14 – 18yrs – Gold – Jing Leung & Geogia Ward, Silver – Rosie Cardoe & Holly Lewis 

Girls 1m 9 – 13yrs – Bronze Grace May & Jessica Lewis.

Excellent performances were also put in by Maria Papworth & Nayna Patel in Girls Grp D (9 – 11yrs), Francesca Doran, Ellla Bullett & Ella Whiting in Girls Grp C and Isobel Ruff in Girls Grp B. All their placings contributed to the Team Award.

The Club was crowned ASA National Age Group Team Champions and presented with the Dawdon Shield for the second consecutive year.  A fantastic result and well done divers and coaches.   

Statistics: There were 20 clubs competing and 492 entries with 2,670 diver performed over four days. This was the largest ASA National Age Group competition to date.  

Final Team Standings 1st Crystal Palace, 265 pts. 2nd Sheffield, 227 pts. 3rd Leeds,  205 pts.
