Another successfull Schools Competition was held at Crystal Palace on Sunday 16th June. 118 divers entered from 73 schools accross 10 London Boroughs.
Bromley schools finished top with 5 golds, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes, Lewisham schools were second with six medals and Southwark schools third with two medals.

Xiangyan Kong has been announced to the Junior European Team in Poland after his diver Georgia Ward’s remarkable performances at the Senior World Grand prix in Russia where she finished 5th. Well done Xiangyan on your first international appointment.

Youth Olympic Bronze medallist Georgia Ward is proving herself to be one of Britain’s top Senior Platform divers after two grand prix events, firstly in Canada then in Russia in her first World Grand Prixs.
At the Canada Cup FINA Grand Prix in Gatineau QC, there were 17 divers from ten Nations in the women’s platform event. Georgia had a sensational prelims with a score of 285.35 which progressed her through to the semi finals where she finished 5th just missing out in a spot in the finals.

Crystal Palace Top National Skills Team For 6th Consecutive Year
This years ASA National Skills was as popular as ever with 322 divers form all corners of the country. For the sixth consecutive year we were the top team with five golds from nine events.
In total we had 14 top ten finishes including nine medals. Sheffield came second with one gold and six medals.

Another good result for our team of 22 divers that travelled north for the annual G -Star age group / elite competition in Leeds.
The divers finaled in 23 spots with a total tally of seventeen medals including 7 golds, 5 silvers and 5 bronzes.
Golds went to: Amber Shepherd x3, Noah Williams x2, Scarlett Mew-Jenson x1 and Maria Papworth x1
Silvers: Amelia Connolly x2, Noah Williams x1, Maria Papworth x1 and Maddie Sweet x1
Bronzes: Katherine Torrence x2, Scarlett Mew-Jenson x1, Maddie Sweet x1 and Amelia Connolly x1

Lund – Sweden Report 2012
A team of 25 Crystal Palace divers travelled to Lund in Sweden where they put in a truly remarkable performance to win their first International Club Tournament in “fifteen years”.
This was a massive competition with 351 entries from 28 Teams across 9 Nations. We entered 17 of the 18 events. Of the 17 events we had 27 finalists taking 18 medals including 5 golds, 6 silvers and 7 bronzes.
Palace won the team title with 265 pts. Second was Heliopolis from Egypt on 217 pts with Lux2002 in third on 110 pts.. The other two home nations did well with Edinburgh 9th on 55 pts and Beaumont 14th on 38 pts.
Maria Papworth was the first to shine with double golds in youngest girls springboard competitions. At the opposite end of the age spectrum Georgia Ward won double golds the Women’s 1metre springboard category and women's platform with a bronze om 3metre. Our fifth gold came from Palace’s British Team member, Amber Sheppard winning the girls 14-15 yrs 1 metre event. Amber also picked up a silver on the 3 metre and bronze on platform. Other medal winners were Noah Williams (silver & bronze), Rosie Cardoe (2 x silvers), Scarlet Mew-Jenson (2 x silvers), Maddie Sweet (2 x bronzes), Grace May (1 x bronze) and Kyle Kotari (1 x bronze)
Places in the top six were also taken by Ella Whiting, Natasha MacManus, Tia Monk, Amelia Connolly and Ella Bullet.
This was a very enjoyable trip and we would like to thank the Jane Moses and Charlotte Mew Jenson for their hard work as team chaperones and also the extra support from the travelling mums. Also, a big thanks to our team doctor Jenny Lundie. |

TID Report 2012
Crystal Palace won all three titles at this year’s England Talent Games in Leeds last weekend. The Girls Team beat Southend with 102 pts to 71 with Sheffield taking third on 57pt.
The Boys Team was a closer call with Crystal Palace taking first on 69 pts to Sheffield 50 pts and Southend’s 49pts
The Overall Team Trophy was won comfortably on a 51 points lead by the nineteen diver strong Palace team with 171 pts, 2nd was Sheffield with 120 pts and 3rd Southend on 105 pts. The eight top England Talent funded teams took part.
Individual highlights:
In the Girls 9 years and under: Callie Eaglestone won silver after finishing top in the prelims. Her team mate Evie Smith qualified for the final in second and finished the competition in the top six.
In the Boys 9 and under: Noah Payne and Jack Scaafsmaa place just out of the medals in 4th and 5th after qualifying in 2nd and 3rd. William Burk finished 9th in his first “big” competition
In the Girls 10 and over our team took four of the six final spots. Betty Burke won the National Title with Louise Bradly, Annabel Triggs and Anais Daley-Gourdialsing taking 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. We had a further nine other placings. Saskia Sinfield 10th, Lucy Sefton 11th, Jada Umo 12th, Chloe Hembry 14th, Heidi Florian-Stargard 15th, Georgia Velasco 16th, Isobel Nelson 18th, Cerys Carter 25th and Georgia Howeld 31st.

Seventeen year old Georgia Ward has just been selected to dive for Great Britain in the FINA Junior World Championships in Adelaide, Australia taking place from 8th - 13th October.
